Practice Overview
Kent has spent years handling challenging and complex litigation matters for Fortune 100 national and global corporate clients, national law firms and lawyers, large national and global banks and financial institutions. He has also represented numerous Palm Beach County and South Florida businesses and individuals in business litigation and corporate matters. Through this special combination of legal experience and business acumen, Kent understands how large law firms aggressively litigate cases and how large, deep-pocket companies make their business decisions in connection with costly, time consuming, and burdensome litigation.
Kent regularly litigates high-profile, high-value cases in Florida state and federal courts, as well as arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution forums. These matters involve numerous aspects of complex business litigation, like fraud, business torts and misconduct, shareholder and partnership disputes, business breakups, and breach of contract disputes. Kent represents lawyers and law firms in legal malpractice and other professional negligence claims. He has extensive experience litigating real estate and property disputes, working with financial institutions, banks, private lenders, developers, businesses, and property owners to navigate property rights disputes, commercial foreclosures, loan defaults, receiverships, tenant evictions, and lender liability matters. Kent began his career defending brokerage firms and financial institutions in securities litigation and arbitration actions involving investment fraud and misconduct.
Kent has also counseled businesses and individuals on employment matters, including non-compete and independent contractor agreements.
